Louise Marcella (Wieseka) Elmer, 96, of Floyds Knobs and New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019. Louise was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church and resident of The Villas of Guerin Woods. Her family would like to thank the Guerin Woods staff and her many friends for their loving care.
Louise was born on May 4, 1922 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana to the late John Wieseka and Mary Missi. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George J. Elmer and daughter, Nancy Louise; her siblings: Bernard Schroeder, August Schroeder, John Schroeder, Mary Andres, Ethel Martin, Dorothy White, Mary Hall, Bernadine Engle, Lee Engle and Ed Engle.
Louise is survived by her children: Rev. John Elmer, O.F.M. Conv., Kenneth Elmer (Janet), Ruth Ann Koerner and Becky Randall (Gerry); her siblings: John Weiseka, Helen Balmer, Norma Lamb, Ann Foley; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home - New Albany, (3309 Ballard Lane) with additional visitation on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of service. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Tuesday, at Holy Family Catholic Church (129 W. Daisy Lane, New Albany) with burial to follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
The family requests that contributions in Louise's memory be made to Conventual Franciscan Friars, 101 Saint Anthony Drive, Mount St. Francis, Indiana 47146.
