Louise Cecilia (Bowe) Becht

Louise C. (Bowe) Becht, 90, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Born on April 11, 1935, in Clark County, Indiana, she was the daughter of John and Dorothea (Zimmerman) Bowe. Throughout her life, Louise exemplified a deep commitment to her faith, which served as both a cornerstone and a guiding principal within her home.

A devoted member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, Louise dedicated herself not only to her spiritual community but also spent over two decades as an employee of Mount St. Francis. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication to family were complemented by a love of traveling and watching Old Western movies.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Becht; her son, Keith Becht; and eight of her siblings.

She leaves behind a loving family that includes her children: Barbara Allen (J.R.), Cindy Becht, Sharon Harvey (Rick), Kevin Becht, Steven Becht (Kathy), Eric Becht (Lisa), John Becht (Tracie), and Melissa Matthews (David). Additionally, Louise is remembered fondly by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews who will carry her legacy forward.

Visitation for Louise will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. Following the visitation, a funeral mass celebrating her life will take place at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, 5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
