Louis Douglas "Doug" Pate, 69, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 8, 1947 to the late Louis and Mary Pate. He was a talented singer, song writer and script writer. He was a floral designer and held a black belt in martial arts. He was an avid camper, bowler and baseball player.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Pate and a granddaughter, Kaylyn Dunn.

Doug is survived by his sweetheart, Darlene Tabler; two daughters, Cheri (Munesh) Lulla, Sheila Dunn; one son, Jason Pate; seven grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; siblings, Kirk Pate and Lisa (N.E.) Waters; five nephews; four great-nieces and three great-nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
