Loren Ray King

Loren Ray King, 82, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018. Ray was a proud veteran of The United States Army where he retired as a Drill Sergeant after over 20 years of service. He then went on to work for Bob Nicholson Appliances as the Maytag repairman. Ray loved to fish and was a member of Christ's Community Church of the Nazarene in New Albany.

He was born August 13, 1935 in Sulphur, IN to the late Robert L. & Lillie M. (Johnson) King. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Jean Archibald and Ruth Simon; brothers, Alan, John, Elmer, George and Harry King.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Brenda (Hirth) King; daughter, Jackie King; sister, Leora May McDaniel (Norman); and brother, James King (Wilma).

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Charlestown Cemetery in Charlestown, IN.
