Lois Elaine Irwin

Lois Irwin, 88, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on March 25, 2017. She was a lifelong nurse and helped to start the first coronary care unit at the old St. Joseph Infirmary. Additionally, she was a fifty plus year member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Lois was born on October 23, 1928 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania to the late Henry and Leota (Westphall) Blankenship. She was also preceded in death by her husband Thomas Irwin.

Lois is survived by her son Thomas Irwin, Jr. (Marette) daughter, Karen Irwin, grandchildren August, Amelia, Ingrid, Hillary, Kimberly and Ian. She is also survived by her sister Joyce Kellog, nephew Scott Kellog and niece Diane Runyon.

Visitation will be held from 9:00am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00am on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church (901 Breckenridge Lane Louisville, Kentucky 40207) with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
