Lodema M. (Taylor) Applegate

Lodema M. (Taylor) Applegate, 88, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022. She retired from the Floyd County Prosecutor's Office after a career that spanned over 20 years.

She was born on February 6, 1934, in Sumner, Illinois, to Carson and Irene Taylor. In addition to her parents, Lodema was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ollie "Danny" Applegate; son, Larry Applegate; and granddaughter, Ayrica Amster.

Lodema is survived by her children, Danny Applegate (Theresa), Vicky Applegate, and Rick Applegate (Pam); daughter-in-law, Julie Applegate; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lavera Bauer (Buzz), Rozella Englert, Charles Leonard Taylor (Peggy), and Robert Taylor.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
