Llewellyn Jones Santos, 89, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Llewellyn proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer and Communications Specialist. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and the Washington Redskins. Llewellyn had a passion for action packed and suspenseful movies. He had a deep love for animals and cherished his beloved dogs. Llewellyn will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on April 2, 1937 in Utica, New York to Joseph and Frances Santos. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Santos; mother, Frances Hall; daughter, Michelle Louise Boone; and his beloved dogs, Butch, Buttons, Bogey and Bo.

Llewellyn is survived by his loving family, sons, Donald C. (Sandra) Santos, Joseph E. Santos; life partner, Mary Harvey; grandchildren, Christopher Michael (Julie) Santos, Matthew David (Liz) Santos, Joshua Skyler Santos, Melinda (William) Darden; great-grandchildren, Corbin Santos, Emma Santos, Oliver Santos, Maverick Santos, beloved dog, Ben; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 North Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, Kentucky.

The family requests that contributions in Llewellyn’s memory be made to the local ASPCA.
