Linda Darlene Leonard

Linda Darlene (Cain) Leonard passed away unexpectedly in her home on Thursday, December 5, 2024, in Louisville, KY at age 73. Linda was born on February 11, 1951 in Louisville, KY. She grew up in the Portland neighborhood in Louisville and attended Shawnee High School. She married her soulmate on November 7, 1970 and together they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. Linda spent over 35 years as a social worker, selflessly providing support for individuals with moderate to severe disabilities. She was an avid UofL Cardinals fan, and enjoyed watching basketball and football, the outdoors, traveling, cruises, and most of all, spending time with family. 

Linda’s sons remember her as a kind and loving mother who always supported and encouraged them to pursue their goals. She was fun-loving and quick with a funny remark. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward “Joe” Leonard Sr.; parents, Jesse Lee Cain and Mary Louise (Nix) Cain; sister, Brenda (Cain) Oller; and brothers Jesse L. Cain Jr. and David Cain.

Linda is survived by her sons, Joseph Edward Leonard Jr. and Brian Edward Leonard (Brittany); grandson Jack; her beloved dog, Lady; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

There will be no funeral service.
