Linda Lee Gould was born on June 26, 1944, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and peacefully passed away on April 26, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. With a life marked by dedication, hard work, and beloved family connections, Linda leaves behind a legacy celebrated by all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Jeffersonville High School, Linda devoted many years to her career as a custodian for the U.S. Census Bureau. Her commitment and diligence in her profession were just a part of the many ways she demonstrated her strong work ethic. Beyond her career, Linda found joy in simple pleasures that brought her closer to those she loved. She enjoyed spirited visits to the casino alongside her sisters and held a special fondness for the excitement of the Kentucky Derby. Yet, above all, she treasured spending meaningful time with her family-whether welcoming company into her home or gathering for monthly card games, these moments brought her immense happiness and pride.
Linda’s life was rooted in close family ties. She is survived by her loving husband, Reynold Gould, Jr., whose companionship was a vital part of her life. She also leaves behind her sisters, Janet Casey and Barbara Combs, and her brother George Burns and his wife Opal. Her wider family circle includes numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who carry forward her memory and spirit.
She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Anthony and Marie Burns, as well as brothers Robert and Thomas Burns, whose memories she honored throughout her life.
To celebrate Linda’s life, visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Lane in New Albany, Indiana. This will be followed immediately by a Celebration of Life service at the same location at 1:00 p.m.
Linda Lee Gould’s enduring legacy of love, resilience, and dedication to family serves as an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and community, reflecting a life well-lived with grace and devotion.
