Linda Givens, 73, (nee Quillman, Kennell) entered into Peace with God on December 18, 2017 after combatting Alzheimer's. She was a strong Catholic by faith.
Linda attended Angela Merici and was in their first graduation class. She was a hairdresser having started out at Edith's Beauty Shop, spent many years at Personality Beauty Salon, Rosanna Hughes Presbyterian Home, several other shops and on-call for funeral homes; she also worked in security for Bacon's/Dillards.
She was active in the churches she attended - St. Helens and St. Paul and others over the years. She loved to socialize, dance, and travel and was a workhorse with her jobs as they were an extension of her personality.
She is pre-deceased by her parents, Eleanor "Ellie" Quillman and Sylvester "Duke" Quillman and her brother Danny Joe Quillman. She is survived by her husband, Jim Givens, her daughter Theresa "Terri" Smith (Steve), her son, Shawn Kennell (Beth) and her sisters Donna Brohm (Oscar), Phyllis Kelly (Tom), Anita Roush (Jim), three grandchildren: Hannah Kennell, Grant Smith and Chloe Smith.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 6901 Dixie Highway. A gathering for family and friends will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway.
