Linda Diane Sharp Brown was born on February 21, 1948 to Reverend D.C. and Jessie Sharp in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Beaumont High School, class of 1966. She attended Florissant Valley Community College. At an early age, Linda focused on opportunities available in the airline industry. Quickly she discovered doors opening at TWA and she broke through many barriers to gain a position in Sales and Marketing. Linda was the first African-American female to be featured in TWA's advertisements. Modeling also came natural to her and she was successful at that too. After leaving TWA, she enjoyed over thirty years between Worldspan and Travelport. She retired in 2005 and relocated from Virginia Beach, to join her husband on his farm in Finchville, Kentucky. Her father D.C. Sharp, and two brothers, Gary and Frederick, preceded her in death.
Linda is survived by her mother, Mrs. Jesse Sharp Harris, her husband, J. Alphonso Brown; her only daughter, Sheree Bruce; and her sister, Jacqueline Tramble. Linda was a wonderful step-mother to Monica (Mario), Eric (Tamara), Jessica (Ronald), and T. Mackenzie Brown. In addition, she has numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, all of whom she loved.
Linda was a long term Christian and was an active and loved member of Southeast Christian Church and the Journey Bible Class.
In her long battle with pancreatic cancer and the time of greatest need, she could depend on additional support from William, Milton, Evie, Liz, Jessica, Pat, Lowell, Teresa, Mike and Pam P., SECC members, the Journey Bible Class with Pastor Dave Kennedy and Assistant Joe Keaton, the church elders, special neighbors at Fairway Crossing in Shelbyville, Kentucky, numerous St. Louis close relatives and friends, and the Hildegard House. We are very thankful for Linda and the life that she led and the people that she touched.
