Linda Sue (Barnes) Blandford, 63, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019. Linda worked for 15 years at the Spalding University Library. She received an Associate's Degree in Interior Design from Morehead University in 1976 and then attended Spalding University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Art in 2007, an Associate's Degree in Business Administration in 2007, and finally her Master's Degree in Education in 2015. Linda was an avid gardener. She enjoyed creating ceramics, as well as oil and acrylic paintings. She loved cats and was later blessed with 3 granddogs.
Linda was born on February 6, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Lyndall and Helen Stettenbenz Barnes. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Smallwood; brother, Connie Barnes; and brothers-in-law, Harold Embry and Roe Branham.
Linda is survived by her husband of 40 years, James Patrick Blandford; children, Amber (Johannes Kleiner) Blandford, Whitney (Roger Groenstad) Blandford, Jeremy Blandford, and Mike (Sharon) Blandford; siblings, Betty Embry, Sheila Branham, Edward (Diana) Barnes, and Beverly Barnes; and grandchildren, Madison, Michael, and Maxwell Blandford.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at the funeral home. Cremation will follow in accordance with Linda's wishes.
