Lillian Emma Beckner

March 11, 1926 — August 21, 2015

Lillian Emma Ostrander Beckner, 89, went to her eternal home to be with her heavenly Father, on August 21, 2015 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center.

Lillian loved her church and for many years taught Sunday school at Shively Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mother and had many friends and family who cared deeply for her. Lillian worked alongside her husband as his office assistant until their joint retirement in 1984.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Dr. Fred Beckner; parents, Clifford Ostrander and Lillian Bailey; sister, Geraldine Dolly Kirk; brother, Charles Buddy Ostrander ; beloved Aunt, Mary Travillian; and cousin, Lorine Ritter.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn (J.P. Mohsen), Gregory, Gloria, Mark; one grandchild; four great grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; cousin, Carol Sanford, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25, 10-1 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home East Louisville Chapel with a service to celebrate her life at 1 pm. Burial at Cave Hill Cemetery to follow.
