Lewis Edward Posey, 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and went on to work for the United States Postal Service for 30 years until his retirement. Lewis was also a very avid bowler.
He was born on January 2, 1932, to the late John L. and Helen L. (Garrett) Posey. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Louella (Taylor) Posey; and sister, Betty Ann Schnarr.
Lewis is survived by his sons, Tom Posey and John Posey (Lisa); stepdaughter, Louise Hale (Richard); grandchildren, Jonathan, Aaron, and Kristen; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Jacob's Well (605 Old Salem Road, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130).
