Lewis Harold Fravel, 80, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Born on June 19, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of Harold and Louise (Wagner) Fravel. Lewis lived a life that had a deep appreciation for the farming way of life.
He dedicated several years of service to the National Guard, where he developed a sense of camaraderie and patriotism. He had also been an employee at International Harvester. A man of many interests, Lewis found enjoyment in horse racing and was a motorcycle enthusiast. He was an avid sports fan, with a particular fondness for basketball.
Along with his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by his brother, James William Fravel. He is survived by his sister, Mary Fravel, along with many cousins and extended family members who will cherish his memory.
In accordance with his wishes, Lewis will be cremated, and a gathering of family and friends is planned from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Contributions in his memory may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or to Disabled American Veterans.
