Lester Arlen Demaree

Lester Demaree, 91, of LaGrange, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

He was born on April 22, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Lester and Mary (Baker) Demaree. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52+ years Bette Demaree, sister Vivian Hilliard and brother Kenneth Demaree.

Les served 7 years with the United States Navy, earning the rank of Radarman 1st Class E-6, designated RD1. After working with several automation companies, Les settled in with Electronics Corporation of America / Photoswitch (later purchased by Rockwell Automation) a company that specialized in Photoelectric Sensors used in Industrial Automation Applications. Les was a beloved member of Ballardsville Baptist Church were he served with great love and passion in the name of Jesus Christ. Les was also a member of the Gideons International Northeast Camp.

Les is survived by his sons, Lester Demaree, Jr., Kenneth Demaree (Emely), daughter, Penny Pettigrew (Scott), grandchildren Glenn Durham, Whitney Durham, great-grandchildren Darrian Durham, Khalil Wells and Kehlani Wells, brother-in-law Bobby Neal, nieces and nephews from the Demaree and Neal families and his loving Filipino Family – Salvador and Esperanza Rodriguez, Emiliano and Beth Zapanta, Christian Zapanta (Kristah), Ian Zapanta, Haley Rodriguez and many others living in the States and the Philippines.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Ballardsville Baptist Church (4300 KY 53 Crestwood, KY 40014).

His funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Ballardsville Baptist Church (4300 KY 53 Crestwood, KY 40014) with entombment to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

The family requests that contributions in Les's memory be made to Ballardsville Baptist Church and/or Gideons International Northeast Camp.
