Leroy Hughes

Leroy Hughes, 79, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. A dedicated and hardworking individual, Leroy was a retired custodian for the Clarksville Community School Corporation.

Born on November 12, 1945, in Jeffersonville, Leroy was the son of Leonard and Anna (Mann) Hughes. Throughout his life, he found joy in the simple pleasures, including gardening and spending time tending to his yard. He looked forward to going out on a hunt to find the best breakfast spot.

Along with his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty (Ooten) Hughes; his daughter, Ruth Ann Pate; and his brothers, Roger and Billy Hughes. Leroy is survived by his brother, Leonard Hughes (Karen); as well as his niece, Wendy Morelos (Apollo); and nephew, James "Artie" Hughes.

A visitation will be held in his honor from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 1:00 p.m., with burial to take place at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
