Leroy "Corky" Knight
January 19, 1929 — April 23, 2015
LeRoy "Corky" Knight, 86, of Elizabeth, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. He was a United States Army veteran and the owner of Knight Trucking Company. LeRoy enjoyed watching game shows and old western movies.
He was born on January 19, 1929 in New Albany to the late Charles and Gertrude (Best) Knight. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (McAleese) Knight; siblings, Charles Knight, Chet Knight, Jane Reese, Mary Helen Meeks; and great-granddaughter, Accalia Fetz.
He is survived by his children, Roger McAleese, Mary Lohrstorfer (Chris); grandchildren, Alisha Fetz (Chris), Diana Lohrstorfer, and Nicolas Lohrstorfer.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 PM Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Sunday after 12 PM. His Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Sunday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Bethesda Cemetery in Elizabeth.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus – the community Hospice of Southern Indiana (624 E. Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
