Leonard Andrew Banks, Sr., 65, of Louisville, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, May 20, 2019.
He was born on Oct. 21.1953 in Louisville, KY to the late Cora Leona Banks and Calvin Lee Shelby. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Pete Shelby.
He was a hard worker for General Electric and retired after 30 years of service and dedication. He also was co-owner of Coverall Janitorial Service and later became co-owner of Nightshift Cleaning Service.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, LaNita Banks, his devoted caregiver and former wife, children: Leemesia Edwards, DelJuan Smock, Demitrius Strong, Kristie Lacy, Leonard Banks Jr, LaKesha Spencer (Anthony), Ronisha Banks, and Karissa Jackson; 16 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; brother John Banks, aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and host of friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Newburg Apostolic Church, (4817 E. Indian Trail Louisville, KY 40218) with burial to follow at Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, KY.
