Leon Wayne Schindler , 68, of Salem, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Leon was a member of the Hi-Caliber Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed to reading Sci-Fi and the Bible, watching Star Trek, spending time in the outdoors, and most importantly with family.

He was born on June 7, 1956 in New Albany, Indiana to Leon and Lois (Lickteig) Schindler. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his wife, Lizabeth Ann Schindler; sister, Anita (Chris) Olliges; and friend, Arnold Whilhite.

Leon is survived by his children, Jessica (Brad Canada) Leigh, James Schindler, and Brittney (Scott) Reisert; mother, Lois M. Schindler; two sisters, Jean Marie (Robert) Minter and Kathi (Martin) Klotz; brother, Edward Schindler; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Memorial Service will be at 6:00 pm on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the funeral home.

The family requests that contributions in Leon’s memory be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
