Leon A. Heuser

Leon A. Heuser, 84, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. Leon was a 1954 graduate of New Albany High School, which led him to be an avid Bulldogs basketball fan. He worked at Rohm & Haas in Louisville for over 30 years until his retirement. Leon was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing and loved to watch IU basketball on television. Leon was a member of Chapel Hill Christian Church.

He was born on December 8, 1935, in Galena, Indiana, to the late William and Mary (Ruff) Heuser.

Leon is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joanne (Magness) Heuser; daughter, Shari Carter; brother, Lawrence Heuser; and his very special granddaughter, Jodi Brough, whom he loved dearly.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
