Leo J Parrino, a beloved pharmacist and proud owner of Parrino Pharmacy, peacefully passed away on April 1, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born on February 10, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky, Leo’s life was marked by a deep commitment to family, community, and the many joys that shaped his unique and generous spirit.
A graduate of Butler University in 1974 with a degree in Pharmacy, Leo dedicated his career to helping others through his work at Parrino Pharmacy, a testament to his unwavering love for his profession and those he served. His passion for his work was matched only by his boundless love for his family and his countless hobbies that enriched every chapter of his life.
Leo was a man whose spirit danced through life with warmth and humor. He was sweet-natured and kind-hearted, known for his generosity and quick wit. His great one-liners often brought smiles and laughter to those around him. Leo found joy in the simple pleasures: Louisville basketball games, cooking, going out to nice dinners, indulging in sweets, and tending to his roses and garden. He enjoyed the sun by the pool, weightlifting, watching old movies, musicals, and we can never forget his disco era. Shows like Andy Griffith, Green Acres, Beverly Hillbillies, and I Love Lucy were staples that brought a sense of nostalgia and delight into his everyday life. An avid follower of politics, history, and trivia, Leo was always eager to share knowledge and inspire curiosity.
His family was the very heart of his existence. The joy of making trips to Arizona to see his daughter Andrea (Romain) Catois and grandchildren Julianna, Olivia, Sophia, and especially his time spent with grandchildren Adeline, Evelyn, and son Joe (Heather) Parrino filled Leo’s days with immeasurable happiness.
Leo is survived by his devoted daughter Andrea (Romain) Catois, his son Joe (Heather) Parrino, his grandchildren Julianna Catois, Adeline Parrino, Olivia Catois, Sophia Catois, and Evelyn Parrino. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother Chris Parrino and sister Jan (Bo) Shipley.
Additionally, he held a cherished place in the hearts of his special friend Wesley Morrison and a host of extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elenora Parrino; his brother David Parrino; his wife of 25 years, Linda Parrino; and his sister-in-law Linda Parrino.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
As we remember Leo J Parrino, we celebrate a man who lived with kindness, humor, and a generous heart, leaving a legacy of love and warmth that will forever inspire those fortunate enough to have known him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created with each of us will live on in the stories we tell and the love we share.
