Leo Feltenstein, 71, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019.
Leo was born on October 27, 1948 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Leo and Lillian Feltenstein. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Leo's first job was when he was 12 years old at a gas station in East St. Louis. When he moved to Louisville in 1969, he went to work for Frito-Lay. He was owner of Leo's Carpet Service, and L.S.A. Communications. During the time he owned his carpet business, he laid the K.F.C. logo in the carpet in Colonel Sanders office. During his time with L.S.A. Communications he worked very closely with Trading Post Homes. He was building superintendent at Walnut Street Baptist Church for over 20 years, retiring in 2011. After his "retirement" he continued working as the property manager at Gospel of the Kingdom Campground. He installed the phone system at Christian Assembly Church. Leo was a member of Gospel Kingdom Church, in Louisville and Elizabethtown, KY. He was in the church orchestra and could play any brass instrument, and also sang bass in his quartet. He worked on many projects for the churches over the years. According to his mother, He was worth his weight in gold, due to the care she received during pregnancy.
Leo is survived by his loving Wife of 52 years, Sharon Feltenstein, Daughter (Pride and Joy) & Land Office Secretary, Alissa Feltenstein, Brother, Phillip Feltenstein, Sister, Charlotte (Don) Kester, and Brother, Gordon (Carol) Feltenstein.
A gathering for Leo's family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 1 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 2, at Gospel Kingdom Church (4742 Cane Run Rd.) with burial to follow at Gospel of the Kingdom Campground Memorial Garden (141 Mt. Elmira Rd., Shepherdsville, KY.)
