Lenora Brown

Lenora "Peggy" (Riley) Brown, 94, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Peggy owned and operated Nu-Look Beauty Salon in New Albany for over 40 years. In her early years, she loved ballroom dancing with her husband, Edward. Later in life, she enjoyed playing BINGO, listening to music, and watching movies with her nurses and friends at Providence Retirement Home.

Peggy was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on March 9, 1923, to the late Murdoch and Ethel (Combs) Riley. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Brown; and her brother, Donald Riley.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Gibbs (Darrell) and Robin Zipper (John); grandchildren, Brooke Robinson, Brittany Bley, Dara Gibbs, Lindsey Ofcesak (Tim), Riley Zipper, and Madisyn Zipper; 5 great-grandchildren; and her niece, Kim Schiller.

A Memorial Gathering will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Her Memorial Service will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Peggy's wishes.
