Lena Lavinia(Newbolt) Brown

Lena Lavinia (Newbolt) Brown, 76, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015. She retired from Clark Memorial Hospital after 36 years of dedicated service and she attended the Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witness. Lena was an avid IU basketball fan and enjoyed horse racing as well as crafts and playing board games with her family. She loved to travel the country with her friends and family collecting bells and bears along the way.

She was born on January 31, 1939 in New Albany to the late John, Sr. and Lena (Jackson) Newbolt. Lena was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry F. Brown; brothers, Charles and John Newbolt, Jr.; and son, Fergus Brown.

Lena is survived by her sons, Larry Brown, Sr. (Tina), Charles Newbolt (Pearl), Wilson Newbolt, Sr., Craig Brown (Kimberly); grandchildren, Christina Brown, Cindy Brown, Larry Brown, Jr. (Stevie), Wilson Newbolt, Jr., Tyler Brown, Constance Brown, Tray and Tevin Douglas; niece, Wilma Ellis and nephew, Wayne Newbolt.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Friday, August 21, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
