Leland Russell Rogers

Leland Russell Rogers, born July 7,1936 in Vine Grove, Kentucky, passed away on July 20, 2021 at the age of 85.

He served in the United States Air Force during the 1960s. He was an active member of Southeast Christian Church since 1964, serving for 55 years on the usher team. He worked at Hunt Tractor, a business established by his grandfather, from the time he was 14 years old until he retired at 65. His passions were serving at his church, his family, fishing with his friends and sons, and taking care of his beautiful yard.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Martha McQuillen Rogers, daughter LeAnn Rogers Lewis (Larry), son Leland Mark Rogers (Laurie), son Jeffrey Calvin Rogers (Vicki), sister Linda Rogers and 6 grandchildren Sarah Lewis, Jennifer Lewis, Sophia Rogers, Raena Rogers, Seth Rogers, and Ella Rogers.

Leland was preceded in death by his son Eric Rogers, father James Dennis Rogers, mother Mildred Rogers, sister Beverly Faulkner and grandfather Henry Rogers.

Visitation will be on July 27, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243. The funeral service will be held on July 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Chapel in the Woods, 1407 Moser Rd, Louisville, KY 40299; followed by interment at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 1182 Jones St, Radcliff, KY 40160.
