Leila Mae Mitchell

Leila Mae Mitchell, 77, of Louisville, passed away on February 1, 2015. She retired from Brown Forman and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Leila was born on April 13, 1937, in Opelika, AL to the late Lindy and Maggie Coppedge. In addition to her parent, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Williams Mitchell; and son, James Michael Scott Mitchell.

Survivors include her son, Paul Jones; four grandchildren, Nicole Spaulding, Quila Butler, James Spaulding, and Antawan Fields; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, February 6, 2015 at 12th Street Primitive Baptist Church (2101 West Main Street, Louisville, KY 40212). Leila's Home Going Celebration will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at 12th Street Primitive Baptist Church with burial to follow in Green Meadows Cemetery.
