Lee Francis Taylor, 78, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019. Lee was a proud firefighter for the Louisville Fire Department for 36 years. He went on to be a Battalion Chief until his retirement. Lee had a passion for the history of firefighting which led to him being a docent at the Vintage Fire Musuem in Jeffersonville. He also volunteered for the American Red Cross in disaster relief. In his younger years, Lee was an avid runner and even participated in the Boston Marathon. He was a versatile handyman and builder who could fix almost anything from big to small. In his free time, Lee loved boating and finding any way to get out on the river.

He was born on December 9, 1940 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Lester and Kathleen McGregor Taylor. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert McGregor.

Lee is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jo Taylor; daughter, Stacy (Jorge) Taylor-Bernard; grandchildren, Alexia, Javier and Ariana; sister, Rosemary (Paul) Brewer; and brother, Timothy (Sheranna) Taylor.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 24 2019 at the Vintage Fire Museum (723 Spring Street, Jeffersonville, IN 47130). Cremation was chosen following Lee's wishes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Lee's memory to be made to the Vintage Fire Museum.
