Leasha M. Twyman, 31, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.
She was born on February 14, 1989 in Louisville, Kentucky to Michael and Lisa (Amin) Twyman.
Leasha lived life to its fullest. She loved adventure and having new experiences. Leasha was a lifelong learner. As a child she loved to read the dictionary! As a 3rd Degree Black Belt, she loved teaching and sharing her competition experience with her students! Sparring was her favorite event and you sure didn't want to mess with her!!!
She was a nurturer by nature and was always looking out for others and making them feel comfortable. She was a great encourager, inspiring people to be themselves and comfortable in their own skin. Her example of strength and courage will never be forgotten. While there were many ups and downs over the last two years, she never gave up and never gave in, even to the end. Leasha did not let cancer define her or turn her bitter, but she encouraged others traveling along the same road to stay strong and to fight. The light of her personality would brighten a room and her laughter was a joy to hear! We will miss you dearly, Leasha!
Leasha graduated with a B.A. in English at Southeastern University and obtained her Master Degree in Women and Gender Studies at the University of Louisville.
Leasha is survived by her parents, Lisa and Michael Twyman, siblings Evan Twyman (Maddie), Michaela Twyman and Bryan Twyman, grandparents Sharon and Terry Twyman, Bridget Sherrill, Phil and Laura Amin, great-grandmother Thelma Downs and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Chapel in the Woods (1401 Moser Rd, Louisville, KY 40299).
The family requests that contributions in Leasha's memory be made to Gilda's Club Kentuckiana (2440 Grinstead Dr, Louisville, KY 40204).
