Lawrence Stephen Tarter

Lawrence Stephen "Steve" Tarter, 65, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 following a recent surgery. He was an ardent fan of the Chicago Cubs and the University of Louisville "GO CARDS!"
He was born on March 15, 1955 in Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by his grandparents J.P. and Mary Florence Luckett, his father and several aunts and uncles.
Steve was a 1973 graduate of Flaget High School where he played on the 1971 State Championship football team - "Flaget Braves are Hard to Beat!" He enjoyed several years of coaching his children in T-ball and little league and many happy times bowling in the family bowling league. He was a member of the former Church of Our Lady Men's Club.
Steve loved history and reading. Above all, he will be remembered for his big heart, his love of family and his quick wit. He never met a stranger.
Steve is survived by his mother, Eleanor Tarter, daughters Amy Eberle (Douglas), Jennifer Fornwalt (Nathan) and son Michael Tarter; granddaughters Claire Eberle, Anna and Kate Fornwalt, grandsons Sam, Max Eberle and Noah, Will and Ben Fornwalt, his special "brother/cousin" Tom Wise, aunt Joyce Luckett, uncles Harold and Paul (Glenys) Luckett and several cousins.
Private entombment will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park.
