Lawrence Martin Burton, Jr., 85, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at his residence in Hardinsburg, Indiana. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army who served during the Korean War as a paratrooper. Lawrence was a mechanic by trade and loved fishing.

He was born on December 24, 1929 in Vester, Kentucky to the late Lawrence Sr. & Emma (Streeval) Burton. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Hilda (Rush) Burton; brother, Norman Burton; sisters, Dorlis Stone & Pauline Harding; grandson, John Joseph Milligan.

He is survived by his children, Sharon Etheridge (Ricky), Danny Burton, Cindy Hopper (Roy), Michelle Milligan (Rick) & Chon Hopper (Ryan); siblings, Leoda Stephens, Charlotte Scott, & Donald Burton (Anna); 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Burial will take a place at 1 PM on Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery (1415 North Gate Road, Madison, IN 47250). Full military honors will be conducted.
