LaVerne Charles "Red" Juday, 77, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. Red worked for 25 years as a mailer at The Courier Journal until his retirement. He then worked for another 12 years at the News and Tribune as a circulation assistant. He loved country music and western movies, enjoyed collecting records, and was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.
He was born on October 25, 1939, to the late Albion O. and Mary E. (Hartman) Juday. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Donna Vollmer.
Red is survived by his wife of 31 years, Diana (Switzer) Juday; children, Clint Juday (Kim), Doug Juday (Samantha), Greg Juday, Scott Juday, Amanda Juday, Amber Juday, Jami Fowler (Jason), and Kacye Juday; brother, Harold Juday (Mary Lou); 8 grandchildren; and his faithful canine companions, Lou and Hank.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Memorial Service will then follow at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
