LaVerne Hartlage, 93, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away to eternal life on Monday, August 3, 2020.
LaVerne was born on July 13, 1927 in Louisville, Kentucky to Jess and Ethel Duff. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Brother, Jess Duff, Jr., and Sister, Mary Evelyn Glass, and her husband Valentine Martin Hartlage, Jr., who passed away March 25, 1997 after 50 years of marriage.
LaVerne loved life and lived it to the fullest. LaVerne treasured her friends, was a gifted artist and wrote five books on genealogy, which include many of our Kentucky families. Her book's are at the Brown Pusey House Library in Elizabethtown, KY, The Library of Congress, The Filson Club in Louisville, KY, of which she was a member. Her secretarial skills, for which she worked many years, helped her in whatever she chose to do. Her books and paintings will be enjoyed by many for years to come.
LaVerne is survived by her loving Son, Dale M. Hartlage, who was always there for her and his father. LaVerne adored her son, and loved him with all her heart.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, August 10, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive). Her Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Laverne's memory be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
