She was born on December 12, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to Jessie and Merty (Thurman) Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Donald Johnson, sister, Phyllis Brimm.
LaVenia is survived by her daughter, Denise Carol Roberts, granddaughter, Danielle Roberts.
A Celebration of LaVenia's Life will take place at a later day.
