Lavada Bennett

Lavada "Joyce" Bennett, 79, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024. Lavada was a loving wife, mom, mimi, sister, aunt, and friend. Her passion in life was playing/teaching piano and singing for Jesus. Her life revolved around her family and her faith. She was a member of Community General Baptist Church where she was the piano player. For 66 years she proudly played piano for numerous churches and gospel groups. Lavada will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She was born on March 25, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky to Alfred and Nellie (Dennis) Mudd. She is preceded in death by her Father, Alfred Mudd, Mother, Nellie Mudd, Husband, Chester A. Bennett, Jr., Brothers, Howard Mudd and Mike Mudd.

Lavada is survived by her loving family, Children, Greg W. (Linda) Bennett and Lori A. (James) Boice, Grandchildren, Jesselyn (Joe) Wilson, Christopher (Whitney) Bennett, Dylan Jones, Emily Jones, Alisha Bennett, and Joy Lynn Bennett, Great-Grandchildren, Madison Wilson and Ryder Luttrell, Siblings, Kathleen Chandler, Glenda (Gary) Triplett, and Marli (Terry) DeWitt, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her memory.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
