Laura Lee Shields

Laura Lee "Sis" Shields, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2024, in Louisville KY, at Baptist Health East, from heart related complications.

Laura was born on July 21, 1943, Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Carl Bradley and Zeda (Newby) Bradley. Laura then graduated from Bunche High School in 1962. In 1964 Laura met her late husband William (Bill) Shields in Munfordville Kentucky. After their marriage, they moved to Arizona, New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey. Together they had three children Randall, Kenneth, and Carmille. She was a devoted mother and did everything in her power to care for her family.

She was also preceded in death by her only sibling William Carl (Pete) Bradley and her great-nephew Spenser Bradley.

Laura is survived by her children; Sons, Randall Shields (Theresa), Kenneth Shields (Sharon); Daughter, Carmille Smith (Joseph); Grandchildren, Joseph Pollock, Darrin Shields, Madison Shields, Sydney Shields, Taylor Austin (Alexis), Isaiah Smith, Olivia Shields, Jaiden Shields; Great Grandchildren, Taylor Jr Austin and Naomi Austin; Sister-in-Law, RuthAnn Bradley; Nieces, Katrina Franklin (Chris), Kendra Sorrell (Ervin); Great-Niece, Carla Franklin; and great Nephews, Byran and Nikolas Sorrell, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. All of whom will cherish her memory.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday April 27th, from 11:00am- 2:00pm, followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville KY, 40243, led by Reverend Corrie Shull.
