Laura Elizabeth Sadler

October 4, 1922 — January 14, 2018

Laura Elizabeth "Liz" Sadler, age 95, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018. She was a pioneer in girls' sports in Kentucky. She was inducted into the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1994, and was past president of the Kentucky Athletic Health Physical Education & Recreation Program. She was a graduate of Western Kentucky University and taught at Campbellsville College. Most of her teaching career was at University Breckinridge School. Liz was a long-time member of both First Baptist Church of Morehead and Westport Road Baptist Church. In her retirement, she was a missionary with the International Mission Board. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, George Sadler; and her son, George Ronald Sadler.

Liz is survived by her loving children, Dr. Nancy Corbett, Laura Jean Sadler-Harperink (George), John Cad Sadler (Teresa), Sally Anne Tisdale (Eric); 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 10am-12pm Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Westport Road Baptist Church, 9705 Westport Rd, Louisville, KY 40241, with a celebration of Laura's life at 12pm. Burial will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
