Laura Ann (Korte) Hess

Laura Ann (Korte) Hess, 64, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. She was a loving wife of 42 years, mother of four, and grandmother of two. Laura was born on February 6, 1957, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Bernard and Agnes (Trouy) Korte. On October 21, 1978, she married Larry Hess, and they raised four children. Laura was a devout Catholic, homemaker, and friend to many. She had a passion for spending time with all of her family and her friends. Whether it was a text, phone call, or visit, she enjoyed every minute with her loved ones. On a nice day, Laura liked sitting outside, enjoying God's creation, watching the birds with a cup of coffee.

Laura is survived by her husband, Larry; children, Maria Hoke (Eric), Joshua Hess, Elizabeth Sartain (Michael), and Nicole Swanson (Grant); grandchildren, Isla Jo and Phillip Swanson; siblings, Edward Korte (Doris), Donna Langdon, Bernadette Wheatley, Michael Korte (Shirley), Ronald Korte (Joyce), Bernard Korte (Jane), Mary Shoultz, and Theresia Cunningham (Tom); along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 9:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (316 N. Sherwood Avenue, Clarksville). A rosary will be prayed at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at church with burial to follow at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Charlestown, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Laura's memory may be made to St. Elizabeth's Home or The Right to Life Organization.
