Larry F Voirol

Larry F. Voirol, 69, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on December 1, 2017.

He retired from The Kentucky Department of Corrections as Captain of Luther Luckett Correctional Complex. Larry served our country in the United States Navy and was a member of the VFW. He was also a member of the 8th Division Advisory Board for the Louisville Metro Police Department and was a member of the Louisville Police Citizens Academy.

Larry was born on December 4, 1947 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Kenneth and Betty (Chandler) Voirol. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Miaunna Ford.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Sherry (Mark) Bayne, Jeanette (Christina) Cheeks, Joseph (Emily) Cheeks, Jerry "Scooter" Cheeks, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Rick (Jo)Voirol, sister Rebecca Cox and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Middletown, KY 40243).

His funeral ceremony will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11:00 am the funeral home with burial to follow at 2:30 pm at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central (2501 Dixie Highway Fort Knox, KY 40121).

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in the name of Diane Voirol.
