Larry Nevins, Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on August 22, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on February 12, 1945, in New Albany, Larry was known for his vibrant spirit and zest for life.
Larry dedicated nearly 60 years of his life to his beloved wife, Dora Nevins. Together, they created a warm and loving home where family was always the priority. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Bulleit (Joe), who continue to carry on his legacy of love and devotion.
As a proud grandfather, Larry took great joy in his grandchildren, Shawna Nevins, Shelby Nevins, Brandi Scott (Brad), and Jessica Bulleit. His family expanded further with three great-grandchildren, Marrana, Rip, and Indi, who brought him immeasurable happiness.
Larry's passions were diverse and brought him immense joy. He had the energy and excitement of a young man, as he loved playing video games and shooting fireworks. A true aficionado of classic cars, particularly his beloved '57 Chevy, he found great delight in working on and showcasing his prized vehicle. Additionally, Larry enjoyed the serene pursuits of hunting and fishing, often sharing these experiences with family and friends.
His faith was an integral part of his life. Larry attended Heartland Church of the Nazarene, holding his belief in Jesus above all else, serving as a guiding light to those around him.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Willard Nevins and Amy Nevins, as well as his son, Larry Nevins Jr. He also mourns the loss of his sister, Deborah Morgan, his brother, Herbert "Herb" Nevins, and his great-grandchild, Ridge.
Larry Nevins, Sr. will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. His Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm on Saturday, at the funeral home, with burial taking place at Friendship Cemetery in New Albany.
