Larry James Fanning, Sr., 64, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. He was an avid hunter and an excellent woodworker. Larry worked alongside his brothers and was a co-owner of Fanning Brothers Roofing.

He was born on October 5, 1950 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late James "Junior" and Frances (Byrnes) Fanning. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Fanning.

Larry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Deborah (Rice) Fanning; children, Larry Fanning, Jr. (Rita), Carrie Libka (Gary), James Fanning (Kim); siblings, Roger Fanning (Bonita), Julie Norwoozi (Alli), Mark Fanning (Rose), David Fanning; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 10 AM. His Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

The family requests that contributions in Larry's memory be made to Indiana School for the Deaf (1200 E. 42nd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46205) or to the American Heart Association (240 Whittington Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222).
