Larry L. Burton

Larry L. Burton, 82, of West Point, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
He was born on August 31, 1939 in Lexington, Kentucky to Herbert and Virginia (Curry) Burton. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marilynn Joyce Burton, siblings, Jackie (Ron) Hassler and Phillip (Helen) Burton and his son in-law, Richard "Ricky" Goldsmith.
Larry was a member of the Welsh Tract Old School Baptist Church in Newark, Delaware as well as the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He will always be remembered for his love of mountain music, playing instruments and U.S. history. Larry was an educator for many years; teaching from elementary to college academia.
Larry is survived by his children, Rebekah R. Goldsmith, Jefferson Davis Burton and Melissa Burton (Ricky) Cash, grandchildren, Tabitha Goldsmith, David "DJ" Goldsmith, Keaton Madoc Burton and Connor Eyryd Burton.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Lexington Cemetery.
