Larry Burks Sr., 66, of Guston, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Larry was a truck driver for over 40 years. He loved his dog, Smokey. Larry was an avid UK fan and loved to watch Family Feud and the Price is Right. He was known for coming through the house and stealing everyone's cigarettes. Most importantly, Larry loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandbabies. If he didn't pick on you, he didn't like you and everyone had a nickname. Larry was a one of a kind man with a true heart of gold and will truly be missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
He was born on November 29, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky to George and Flossie (Smith) Burks. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his Son, Toby Burks, Brother, Freddy Burks, Sister, Connie Likes, and Brother, George Burks.
Larry is survived by his loving family, Son, Larry G (Verlinda Robinson) Burks, Jr., Daughter, Kimberly (Scott) Crossfield, Daughter, Amanda (Timmy) Burks, Daughter, Sylvia Cureton, Grandchildren, Joshua (Karrissa) Skaggs, Christopher Burks, Brian (Arialle) Green, Sabrina Burks, Hailee Robinson, Austin (Adrian) Crossfield, Cody Crossfield, Ricky Whitley, Tara (Christen) Burks, Amber (Michael) Drury, Cambria Farris, 14 great-grandchildren, Brother, Alan (Sandy) Burks, Sister-In-Law, Peggy Burks, Sister-In-Law, Donna Burks, and Brother-In-Law, Dale Likes, and fur baby, Smokey; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
