Larry Bates
October 29, 1948 — June 8, 2015
Larry W. Bates, 66, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on June 8, 2015. Larry was a Navy and Vietnam War Veteran, in which he protected the seas of the Pacific and our country for 23 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. Larry was also an avid sci-fi reader and loved Star Trek. He loved to get sushi with his sister, Susan.
Larry was born on October 29, 1948 in Louisville, KY to the late Kathleen and Connie Bates. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sandy, brother, Ronald, nephew, Joey, and niece, Renee.
Larry is survived by his wife, Noriko Bates; daughters, Catherine and Mika Bates; sisters, Pam, Yolanda, Susan and Janice; and a host of family, friends, nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to his sister, Susan Kuerzi, and Hosparus of Louisville for their dedication and care they provided in his last days and fulfilling his wishes. Thanks to all who knew and loved him during his time on earth.
