Hagan, Lamont Leo (Monte) 84, passed away Saturday February 4, 2017 peacefully at home. He was born November 30, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky the son of Herbert and Lucille (Hartlage) Hagan. He was preceded in death by his son Keith Hagan, great- granddaughter, Cora Lewis and brother Herbert Hagan Jr.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Rita (Kiesler) Hagan of Floyds Knobs, In.; sons, Patrick (Kathy) Hagan of Georgetown, In., Brian (Tracy) Hagan of St. Louis, Mo., daughter Diane (Brian) Lewis of Lanesville, In., daughter in law Holly Hagan of Lanesville, In. and eleven grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother William (Marilyn) Hagan and sisters Rose Ann Williams, Ruth King, Bernadette (Don Coffman) Hagan and Ina Hagan.
Lamont was a Veteran of the Navy and served in the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Law in 1962, was a retired agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and former private investigator. Monte and his son Pat were principal owners and founded the Bluegrass Brewing Company in 1993. In retirement Monte loved to exercise, garden and golf, and he also volunteered for Hospice of Southern Indiana for over 10 years
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 2 – 8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Ln in New Albany. His Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 10AM with more visitation from 9-10AM at Newcomer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hosparus of Southern Indiana, (502 Hausfeldt Lane, New Albany, IN 47150).
