LaYondia "Wanda" Marie Azerot, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, accepted Christ at an early age in Chicago, Illinois. She was called home on Friday, December 31, 2021. LaYondia LOVED her romance novels, game shows, card games, BINGO, games on her phone, classic movies, cooking, and traveling to various places (cities in the U.S., including softball events with her sister), especially South Florida and Paris, as often as she could to visit two of her sons. She retired from JCPS after almost 20 years of service. She was loved by many people and will truly be missed by everyone who knew her.
She was born on May 28, 1946 in Louisville, Kentucky to Arthur Thomas Logan, Sr. & Charlotte (Douglas) Miller. She is preceded in death by her Father, Arthur Thomas Logan, Sr., Mother, Charlotte Bell Miller, Husband, Albert Joseph Azerot, Daughter, Régine Alice Azerot, and Siblings, Arthur Thomas Logan, Jr., & Barbara Inez Logan.
LaYondia is survived by her family; Children, Pierre André Azerot, André Albert Azerot, Georges Peter Azerot, Marie Josephine Edison, and Marc Georges Azerot; Grandchildren, Pierre André Azerot, II, Mark Anthony Eugene Azerot, Anthony Louis Edison, II, Bridgette Regine Edison, Ayesha Kiara Azerot-Heil, Katrina LaShaye Azerot, Crystal Ja'Nai Edison, Marcayla V. Azerot, Persia A'Lia Azerot, and Jéan-Pierre Nicolas Azerot; 13 Great-Grandchildren; siblings, Anita Louise Johnson, Mildred Laverne Brooks, Robert (Rod) (Sutoria) Rolark, Estelle (Bill) Logan, and Winfred Kirk Rolark, as well as a host of nieces & nephews, and family & friends, to cherish her loving memory forever.
The family requests masks to be worn the entire time for visitation and the service.
Visitation will start at 4:30 pm on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272). Her Going Home Service will follow at 6:00 pm on Sunday, at the same location with continued visitation until 8 pm.
