Kevin Charles Schmidt, 61, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018. He will be remembered for his love of Christmas and the joy that a good cup of coffee or ice cream cone could bring him. Kevin was truly cherished by his brothers and sisters and will be deeply missed.
He was born on December 31, 1956, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Francis Charles and Grace Evelyn (Manship) Schmidt.
He is survived by his siblings, Gary Schmidt (Sheila), Michael "Mike" Schmidt (Beverly), Anthony "Tony" Schmidt (Angela), Joseph "Joe" Schmidt (Sally), Karen Chastain (Carl), Lisa Chastain (Doug), Lynne Freiberger, and Cheryl Price (Stephen); 18 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and -nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church followed with burial in the church cemetery.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff and management at Quality Community Services in Floyds Knobs for their excellent care and compassion.
