Kevin Lee McKiernan, born on March 6, 1957, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026. He was a dedicated and hardworking self-employed painter whose craftsmanship brought color and life to countless homes and businesses.
Kevin’s life was marked by his steadfast commitment to his country, proudly serving in the United States Air Force. His service reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism, qualities that shaped his character and influenced those around him.
Family was at the heart of Kevin’s life. He is survived by his son, Domanic Hernandez, and daughter-in-law Amanda, as well as his cherished grandchildren: Perry, Gracie, Peyton, and Lily Hernandez. Kevin's brothers, Michael and Patt McKiernan also survive him.
The pain of his passing is made more poignant by the recent loss of his wife, Sabrena Mae Atherton McKiernan, who left this world on March 7th. Together, Kevin and Sabrena built a life grounded in love and mutual support. He was also preceded in death by his father, Larry McKiernan; his mother, Barbara Antczak; stepfather, Jim Antczak; and sister, Lori Ann Delgado. Each of these family members played an integral role in shaping the man Kevin became.
Kevin Lee McKiernan was a man of quiet strength, dedication, and integrity. His contributions—both as a serviceman and as a skilled tradesman—will be remembered with respect and admiration. Though he has left this world, the vibrancy he brought into the lives of his family, friends, and community endure. He will be deeply missed and forever honored by all who knew him.
