Listen to Obituary

Kevin Michael Brown, lovingly known by many as Michael, was born on October 18, 1973, and left this world on August 5, 2026. In his 52 years, Kevin built a legacy among his loved ones that will carry on forever.

To meet Kevin was to encounter a one of a kind, stubborn, ambitious man with an unmatched drive. A jack of all trades, Kevin’s hands and mind always knew life’s many tasks were an opportunity—whether tinkering under the hood, fixing what others deemed unfixable, or crafting the perfect solution to a challenge at hand.

At the heart of Kevin’s world pulsed his family, for whom he worked tirelessly and without complaint. He found his proudest accomplishments in family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Ann Brown; his children Erica Patterson, Emily Devore, Jesse Blevins, Samirah Al Khafaji - Brown, and Kelsei Keiser; and ten grandchildren who adored him: Nikolai, Chloe, Kayden, Carlee, Sa’Riyah, Jesse Michael, Ramzey, Raelin “Sissy Sue”, Haitham “Asian Boy”, and Amara. Each grandchild held a unique place in Kevin’s heart.

Kevin also leaves behind his sister, Kimberly Dockery; brothers, Denny Brown and Derek Amos; as well as his cherished fur-baby Nala. He was embraced and loved by his extended family, including his mother-in-law Joyce “Nana” Henning and brother-in-law Shane Starkey. His life is also honored by the memory of his sister, Traci Brown, who preceded him in death.

The soul of a craftsman and the heart of an entrepreneur, Kevin owned and operated “Kevin’s Customs and Son,” a vintage auto restoration company where his hard work and vision brought old metal and fading memories roaring back to life. It was a shop where stories were shared and skills were passed down, His dedication was legendary—he never took off work, even during holidays—and if someone said it couldn’t be done, Kevin was going to find a way.

But the measure of Kevin’s life can’t be told by work alone. He found peace while fishing or hunting arrowheads on the Ohio River. He was happy hunched over a welding project, smoking meats on the grill, listening to music and in his early days tattooing. Every laugh-filled cook-out, every moment spent working in his shop was another day in his life he built for his family.

Kevin was ambitious, driven by nature, but never too busy to sit with his grandchildren and share his wisdom. The impact of his determination and character is clear in those who survive him—family that remains connected in part because of the values he instilled.
