Kenneth M. "Kenny" Stivers, 78, of Louisville, KY, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY. Born on November 22, 1947, in Shelby County, he was the son of James K. "Jim" and Elizabeth Stivers both of whom were natives of Henry and Shelby County respectively. In his youth, he spent a lot of time on his grandparents (Morris and Greathel Stivers) farm in Henry County. At the age of 16, he raised his own tobacco crop. Kenny was a graduate of Shelbyville High School and worked 16 years for the state of Kentucky with several departments, including security for the state capital. He was a truck driver for 30 plus years in Shelby County and Milwaukee, WI, for various companies; he drove several types of trucks. Kenny was a member of Lifesong Community Church. He loved traveling in his motor home and fishing with friends and family members.
Kenny was survived by his wife of 57 years, Brenda Yancey Stivers; daughter, Kristine "Kristy" Taylor and her husband Robert "Bobby" Taylor of Louisville, KY.
The family asks that donations be made in memory of Kenny to St. Jude Children's Research or Lifesong Community Church, 10300 Lower River Road, Louisville, KY 40272.
